Welcome to the Worksafe website (the “site”), owned and operated by Worksafe (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a California-based, non-profit organization that advocates for meaningful workplace health and safety protection. The site is designed to serve as an informational resource for parties interested in Worksafe and our current projects and campaigns. Your privacy is very important to us. This privacy policy is intended to explain our online information practices and the choices you can make about how your information is collected and used.

1. What personally identifiable information of yours do we collect?
We collect information from you when you register for services on our site (subscribe to our e-newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out an online form, register for an event, request materials, etc.).

When using our site, or for registering for services offered, you may be asked to provide your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, or other information. You may, however, visit our site anonymously. We will not obtain the above-mentioned personally-identifying information about you when you visit our site unless you choose to provide it to us.

We use your personal information to be able to give you personalized service (for example, information about your neighborhood, or your favorite subjects); to send you email alerts; to answer your requests; to let you become a member online, etc.

We also use it to improve the website by tracking your and others’ use of our site; this lets us see which of our features are the most popular and to receive feedback so we can better serve our users’ needs.

4. Do we use cookies?
Yes. Online donations to Worksafe made through our website are processed through Network for Good, a secure, non-profit fundraising service, which will distribute your donation to us while respecting and securing your privacy. Network for Good has a privacy policy that states that it will never sell, trade or rent your information to other companies or individuals. We are not responsible for the security of information submitted through third party websites, including but not limited to Network for Good, Guidestar, Verisign, Feedburner, Twitter, Facebook, or Youtube. We are also not responsible for any collection, transfer or use of your personal data by such third party websites.

We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for other uses.

6. Third party links:
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

7. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act compliance:
We are in compliance with the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and as such, we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years of age or older.

8. Changes in our privacy policy and your consent:
By using our site, you consent to our privacy policy. Should our practices change, this notice will be immediately updated.
