Conference cancellations received in writing by November 16 will receive a refund of $65.  Cancellations received by November 23 will receive a refund of $35.  No refunds after November 23, but substitute registrants are accepted.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  Health and safety activists from unions, worker centers, and community based organizations;  worker advocates from legal services programs, and labor and employment law firms
OSH professionals;  government personnel responsible for protecting workers;  and other interested persons. 

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW:  This conference is a chance for workers and worker advocates to discuss and develop recommendations and strategies for changes in public policy that will improve worker safety and health.  Discussion will be based on a policy white paper develope by Worksafe which will be available on-line in advance.  Click here for the White Paper (to be posted).

CONFERENCE GOALS:

  • Establish a network for effective future communication and collaboration among safety and health advocates
  • Develop shared goals to improve worker safety and health and assure adequate remedies for injured workers with a focus on these areas:
    • Collective worker action
    • Government agency action
    • Meeting the needs of injured workers
  • Identify top priorities for action within each of these areas, taking into acocunt the current political landscape
  • Identify issues fo rnational action to which California worker advocates can contribute or which will help us achieve our own priorities
  • Identify key strategies, tactics, allies and other campaign compoents to move forward with an aggressive worker oreintede occupational safety and health policy agenda
